Our community sadly lost a piller on Monday January, 2nd 2023 when Charles Reynold Daubitz Sr., favorably known as (Bud) at age 99, passed away from natural causes. Charles was born in St. Paul Hospital on September 05, 1923 in Dallas, Texas to the late Reinhold & Helen Daubitz. After high school he served in in the US Army Air Corps during WW2 as a Radio Operator. He was also a trainer stationed in Casper Wyoming, an accident while loading a bomb within his proximity caused his knee injury from shrapnel. Charles and Dortha were respected and beloved throughout the Red Oak Community. He was heavily involved in the First United Methodist Church of Red Oak, Pact 10 Scout Leader, Eagle Scout Lida Hooe Elementary School, Red Oak Founders Day Leader and organizer, Mayor of Red Oak for two terms in 1989 and 1994. On the Red Oak City Council and also opened their home to Foreign Exchange Students. Red Oak City leaders renamed a street after them (Daubitz Dr.) for work in the community. He was actively involved in the Red Oak Lions Club a member of the Masonic Lodge. They loved meeting new people and traveling. They also enjoyed Home gardening, hunting, deer, quail, dove and fishing was his passion. He raised Beagle dogs for competionand was a tournament bass fisherman. He will be dearly missed by his family and his community. Charles owned and operated Red Oak Self Storage, Owned several Real Estate Properties, Daubitz Custom Homes, LLC Est: 2005, opened Daubitz Upholstery in Dallas in 1955.
Charles was preceeded in death by his beloved wife of 71 years Dortha Daubitz (Dot) & Son Steven Daubitz; Charles is survived by two sons Charles R. Daubitz Jr. & Wife Judi Daubitz, Carl W. Daubitz Daughter in law: Terri Daubitz; Five Grandchildren: Charles R. Daubitz III “Trey”, Christopher R. Daubitz, , Carl W. Daubitz Jr. & Wife Alix, Cody Wayne Daubitz and William Vaughan & Wife Naomi Vaughan .Eight Great Grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
