Charlene Scruggs

Charlene Elizabeth Scruggs peacefully left this world surrounded by her loving family, to join her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, July 8, 2012. She was born in Redland, Texas on January 27, 1932 to Cassie and William Hill. She grew up in Redland along with her two sisters and three brothers in a wonderful and close-knit family. In 1949 she married the love of her life, Roy Scruggs and they were blessed with three children. Charlene was always helping her family and friends and her enthusiasm and optimism for life was an inspiration to all who were privileged to know her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Scruggs, Sr.; her parents, William and Cassie Hill; her sisters Jean Benge and Doris Herrington; and one brother, Billy Frank Hill. Left to cherish her memory are her three children; her son, Roy Scruggs, Jr. and his wife, Debbie; daughters, Carol Farris and her husband, Ronnie and Christi Redd and her husband, Jim; brothers, Robert Hill and his wife, Linda and Jerry Hill and his wife, Kay. She was a loving grandmother and aunt with six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Rev. Cleve Clark and Kirk Curry officiating. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie.
