Cecil Lowrie

Cecil Warren Lowrie, 77 of Garland, passed away suddenly Saturday, December 26, 2015. He was born to the late Warren and Cora Lee Lowrie on October 4, 1938 in Yoakum, Texas.Cecil was a devoted husband for 52 years to his wife Evelyn. Cecil and Evelyn did everything together. Their favorite things to do were to visit their three grandchildren and travel across the US and Europe. Cecils children remember him as an always present father who taught and guided with them with love and self-sacrifice. Cecil lived and shared his faith, and attended First Assembly of God in Dallas. He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn Moore of Garland; his three children, Scott Lowrie of Garland, Kim Lowrie of Garland and Camille Horton and her husband, Tim of Warrenton, VA; his brothers, Glynn Lowrie and his wife, Kathy of Waxahachie and Ladd Vien and his wife, Leky of Waxahachie; and his brother in law, Jim Maddox of Waxahachie; he is also survived by his three grandchildren, Sarah Horton, Ethan Horton and Delaney Horton.He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Warren and Cora Lee Lowrie; also by his sister, Lee Ruth Maddox;Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 2015 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Enriquez officiating. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
