Ms. Brown passed away Friday, January 30, 2009. She was born in Havana, Kansas to Henry C and Lillian Welch.
Cathy retired from LTV after 30 years as an executive secretary. She had many groups of friends in the Road Runners Secretarial Association, her church associations and the Red Oak Rehabilitation group known as 8 Golden Girls and 1 Rascal. She was secretary of the year in 1961 where she belonged to the National secretaries Association. She served this group in many capacities and reveled in the friendships she had with them.
Cathy was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Red Oak and loved each member. Here too she served willingly in many areas. She has been a resident of Red Oak Rehabilitation since August 2008 and was involved in the resident council. She loved all the residents and was loved by them.
She is survived by her children, her son, Ray Steven Stuck and her daughter, Karen Grimsley and husband Ronnie; brother, Charles; five Grandchildren, Paula, Cathy, Jarod, Tracy and Connie; eleven Great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters in law; Mary Welch and Rosalie Welch and many nieces and nephews.
Ms. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Barney, and two brothers, Henry and Joe.
The family wishes to thank the fine nursing and office staff and especially Shannon Wilson of the Red Oak Rehabilitation Facility for the love and good care she received.
They also greatly appreciated Lighted Pathways hospice. They all were wonderful to her.
