Catherine A. Bowden, 48 of Waxahachie, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at Baylor Medical Center of Waxahachie. She was born to the late Bobby Don Stout, Sr. and Barbara Jean Lutz on May 4, 1960 in Dallas, Texas.
Catherine loved to travel. As a member of one of Ellis County's Pioneer
Families, she was involved in genealogy. She had done research in most all
the eastern states, and was a member of numerous historical and
genealogical organizations. She was the Editor of the Ellis County
Genealogical Society Quarterly for five years. She was an excellent
painter and enjoyed ceramics. She had a green thumb, and loved to dig in
the dirt in her flower beds. She was a lover of people -- she was there
for anyone with a need -- and she had a love that can only be described as
fierce for her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jay Bowden of Waxahachie; her son, Jeffery Jarrell and his wife, Amy of Waxahachie; her daughters, Jayda Bowden of New York, Traci Bowden of DeSoto; her brother, Bobby D. Stout, Jr. and his wife, Melinda of Waxahachie; step-father, James Derr of Waxahachie; step-mother, Elizabeth Stout of Houston; her niece, Crystal Stout of New York; her nephew, Brian Stout of Ft. Worth; and grand-nieces, Summer Ann Stout and Alexis Marie Stout; her sister-in-law, Della Busocio; and sister, Kathy Nelson.
She was preceded in death by her grandma, Sarah Viola Harris-Stout; grandfather, Lannie Grissom Stout; her granny, Ruby Clay Prince-Lutz-Hutcherson; and her granddad, Regis Alexander Lutz.
Memorial services to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 18, 2008 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
