Carrie Smith

Mr. Carrie Lee Smith was born in Palestine Texas on September 11,1931 to the parentage of Oliver and Ethel Smith. He went to Heaven on January 6, 2014 making his stay on Earth 82 years. Carrie retired from Flexsteel Industries and then from American General Insurance Co. He loved singing and playing the guitar and had a local band for several years. Carrie was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a faithful member of Southlake Baptist church where he served as a deacon. He leaves behind his loving wife Ruth Marie Smith. He is also survived by his sons; Lee Smith and wife Lisa, Lynn Smith and wife Debbie, and Mark Smith and wife Lisa; daughters Becky Bryant and husband Lewis, Sandee Masterson and husband Richard; sister Sally Hamm, Eleven Grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister Edna, Brothers LC Pete and Edward Smith and grandson Michael Van Carter. Visitation will be Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm.at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Services are scheduled for Friday, January 10, 2014 at 10:00 am at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel, led by Brother Bruce Anderson and Brother Roy Thornal. Burial will follow at Mountain Peak Cemetery. Pallbearers will by Lewis Bryant, Jason Bryant, Paul Smith, Cole Smith, Mark Pryor and James Caliendo.
