Mrs. Settlemyer passed away Tuesday morning at her residence in Waxahachie. She was born in Phoenix, Arizona to Kenneth I and Helen (Bowers) Bergman. She was raised Ajo, Arizona where she attended School. She married James M Settlemyer August 28, 1964 in Ajo, Arizona. She was a baker for the past 24 years for the WISD Child Nutrition Department. Carol was employee of the year for 1993-1994. She was a member of the Sardis United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her mother Helen M Bergman of Emory, her children; James Michael Settlemyer II and his wife Tammy and Scott Ivan Settlemyer, of Waxahachie; Her grandchildren: James Michael Settlemyer III, Kaley Renee Settlemyer, Scott Ivan Settlemyer Jr, all of Waxahachie and Nathan Gary Settlemyer of Mansfield. Also surviving is her brother Kenneth I Bergman and his wife Evelyn of Lake Fork and the father of her children James M Settlemyer of Navarro, Florida and many nieces and nephews.

The family will recieve friends and relatives from 6 to 8 PM Thursday evening at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 10:00 AM Friday, September 7, 2007 at the Sardis United Methodist Church with Pastors; Rod Corder, Marvin Mott, and James Senkel officiating. Interment will follow at the Sardis Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be:Rick Finley, Bobby Montgomery, Scott Ivan Settlemyer Jr, Ivan Bergman, Eddie Settlemyer, and James Ashcraft. Honorary Pallbearers will be: James Michael Settlemyer III, Ryan Taylor Ashcraft, Nathan Gary Settlemyer, and David Bergman.
