Carita O'Brian

Carita A. O'Brian, 83, of Ovilla, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born to the late James J. and Charlotte Coulter Coleman on April 23, 1927 in Odessa, Texas . Carita was an avid gardener. She enjoyed volunteering at Baylor Medical and teaching adults to read. Her passion in life was academia and the arts. She is survived by her children, Maureen Higgins of Glenn Heights, Charles Higgins, Jr. of Ovilla, Kathleen Higgins of Lancaster, Kevin Higgins and his wife, Barbara of Austin, Douglas O'Brian and his wife, Tammy of Southlake; her sister, Roberta Howard and her husband, Richard of North Thetford, VT; her grandchildren, Meredith Pond, Madeleine O'Brian, Ethan O'Brian, Coleman O'Brian and Jackson O'Brian. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Avard O'Brian. The family will host a memorial to celebrate her life Sunday, February 20th from 4:00-6:00 PM at 625 William Drive, Ovilla, TX 75154.
