C. Helm, Jr.

March 13, 1942 — December 28, 2013

On December 28, 2013, C. Jay Helm, Jr. passed on to be with his Lord and Savior. He was born March 13, 1942 in Corning, New York to Clarence J. and Gertrude Pock Helm. He attended Elmira College and received a Masters of Professional Accounting from the State of New York at Albany. Jay retired from the Internal Revenue Service in 2003 and opened his own accounting practice first in Houston and then later in Waxahachie. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Waxahachie and Fellowship Sunday School Class. He participated as cook in mission trips to California, Canada and Arkansas. He loved to cook and take care of others. He was known for his preparation of smoked beef brisket, beef jerky and jalapeno cheese bread. Jay was a proud husband and father whose generosity to serve others was unending. He was on the Board of Common Ground Ministries. He was a former Ellis County Coordinator for the American Red Cross. He was Past Master of the Masonic Lodge in Katy, Texas and Past Patron of the Katy Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. We will miss you Dad and forever be in our hearts. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Helm of Waxahachie; Son: William Helm of Canandaigua, N.Y. ; Daughter: Tammy Mandell and husband Steve Mandell of Corning, N.Y., Daughter: Rachel Mahserjian and husband Sam Manserjian of Kennedale, Texas; and son Thomas Triplett of Dallas, Texas. Jay was the proud grandfather of five: Garrett Mandell of Corning, N.Y.; Emma and Thomas Luke Triplett of Bedford; and Samuel and James Mahserjian of Kennedale. He is also survived by his sister, Cherylee Metzger and husband Denny Metzger of Orlando, FL; aunt, Lea Stewart and husband Lee Stewart of Corning, N.Y. and his uncle, Charles Pock and wife Betty Pock of Surprise, AZ. Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, January 11, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Waxahachie with Rec. Jeff Moran officiating. Interment will follow at the Linden City Cemetery in Linden, Texas. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
