Burley Lee Blevins, age 82

Mr. Blevins passed away at Baylor Medical Center Waxahachie Wednesday morning. He was born in McGregor, TX. to Richard and Minnie (McMahan) Blevins. He was a Baptist by faith, served in the US Army WWII in Germany where he received the Purple Heart. While in Germany, he was a driver for General Dwight D. Eisenhower. Mr. Blevins was a plumber by trade in the Dallas/Lancaster area and for the City of Dallas. He loved to fish.
Survivors are: three sons, Carl of Mexia, Earl and Burl both of Waxahachie; five daughters, Connie Webb and husband Melton of Red Oak, Mary Hamilton and husband Don of Terrell, Michael Alice Rollins and husband David of Milford, Donna Elrod of Waxahachie and Darlene McBride and husband Darrell of Italy; nineteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, two brothers and six sisters.
The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Thursday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2 PM Friday in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Dr. Ted Brown officiating. Pallbearers will be Brandon Blevins, Chuck Rollins, Eric Vandever, Matthew Blevins, Tim Blevins and Derek McBride. Interment will follow in Waxahachie City Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
