Bryan Joseph “Joey” Jenkins, age 47, of Cleburne, Texas, departed this world on October 30, 2024. Bryan was born in Dallas, Texas on December 8, 1976, to the late William “Robin” and Wilma Jenkins. He was a lifelong resident of the Waxahachie, Hillsboro, and Cleburne area. Bryan was blessed with many talents, from athletics to art. He had the privilege of showing his athleticism as a member of the Waxahachie High School football team, and even going to the 1992 4A State Championship where the Indians defeated A&M Consolidated 28-24 in the Astrodome in Houston, Texas. He had an amazing ear for music and was able to tell you a song title and artist within seconds. He was also a talented cook and artist. If you really knew Bryan, you knew he made a mean steak, etouffee, gumbo, and the list goes on. After graduation from Waxahachie High School, he went several colleges and one of which was on a full ride football scholarship. He went to Grand View College in Des Moines, Iowa, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology. From then, he became a Community Supervision Officer for the Fort Bend County Community Supervision and Corrections Department in Rosenberg, Texas. He then moved to the Johnson County Adult Probation Office as a Community Supervision Officer where he spent servicing the community for over 15 years. Throughout his lifetime, he made many friends and was member of many memories. Although his time has come to an end, may the memories of him live on.
Bryan leaves behind the 2 true loves of his life his children Elizabeth Jenkins and Nathaniel Jenkins; their mother Suzanne (Jeff) Ward; his sister Jessika (Donnesha) Jenkins; his aunts Rhonda (Alan) Kilburn and Sherry Bowling; his best friend Stephen “Ashley” Takacs; his companion Hannah Clanton; along with many other family and friends.
Bryan was preceded in death and welcomed into heaven into the loving arms of his parents William and Wilma Jenkins.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 7, 2024, followed by a service to celebrate his life at 7:00 PM at Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas. A private burial will take place on Friday, November 8, 2024.
