Bria Bickerstaff

September 18, 1980 — February 18, 2012

On February 18, 2012, heaven got an amazing angel. After battling breast cancer for almost a year, Bria lost her battle. She fought this disease head first and never backed down from the fight. She had an almost unimaginable strength and passion that was an inspiration to all that met her. Bria was born in Tomball, TX September 18, 1980. She attended Cleburne High School. She worked for Fashion Glass and Mirror for several years. For the last four years, she was a stay at home mother to her three children. Her life revolved around taking care of these precious babies. Not only was she a wife and mother, she was a daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many. She had a contagious personality that one could not help but to be drawn to. Even when she was at her worst during the treatments for the breast cancer, she was able to use her sharp wit and sense of humor to try to make those around her feel better and try to lighten the mood. She was always a caregiver to those around her and could be counted on to try to make you feel better about any situation. She and her family attended First Baptist Church Red Oak. The church was an important part of her life in her final years. She very much appreciated all of the help that was extended to her family by the church during her illness. Bria is survived by her husband, David Bickerstaff; her children, Bryson, Lila and Sawyer; her parents, Karen and Tim Gilliland and Danny Moore; her sister and her family, Laura, Joey, Mikey and Nicholas Kirton; step siblings, Joey, Adam and Sarah Gilliland; grandmother, Jo Moore; mother and father in law, Sherry and Nathan Bickerstaff; brothers in law, Daniel and Jonathan Bickerstaff; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her son, Weston; brother, Chad Moore; grand parents, Ann and Leonard Hearron and Edward Moore; and step mother, Donna Moore. Pallbearers will be Daniel Bickerstaff, Jonathan Bickerstaff, Joey Gilliland, Adam Gilliland, Donald Hearron and Joey Aman. Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, February 22, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie. Services celebrating Bria's life will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Red Oak, with Jared Douglas and Rusty Shuler officiating. Interment will follow at the Red Oak Cemetery.
