Brenda, age 52, mother and devoted grandmother passed away at home after a courageous battle with cancer early Friday morning, June 6, 2008.

She was born to Charlie and Mildred Collard in Lawton, Ok. at Ft. Sill Army Base on March 10, 1956.
She attended grade school at Valwood Elementary and high school at R.L.Turner in Farmers Branch, Tx. She was united in marriage for 33 years to Jesse Douglas Staton on April 19, 1975.

Brenda's career began in insurance where she worked for many years, then moved to patient care 16 years ago. She continued working even after given her prognosis up until weeks before her death.

Her survivors include: husband, Jesse (Doug); son and his wife, James and Rebecca, daughter and her husband, Charlene and Kevin, son and his wife, Michael and Stephenie; two grandchildren, Anthony and Jessica; sisters, Nancy, Debbie and Kathy; and her best friend of many years, Sue Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Larry Collard, step-son Darren Wayne Staton, father-in-law and mother-in-law, James D. and Jessie D. Staton.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday at the Red Oak Funeral Home. The Celebration of Brenda's Life will be 10 AM Wednesday, June 11, 2008 also at the funeral home with interment at noon on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at the Norton Family Cemetery, Ardmore, Ok.
