Bonnie McAlpin, Age 74
October 28, 1932
August 9, 2007

Mrs. McAlpin passed away Thursday morning at her residence in the company of her family. She was born in Phillipsburg, Kansas to Hobart and Lily Mayhew. She was raised in Hays, Kansas. She married Jack McAlpin Jan 15, 1988 in the family home on McAlpin Road. She had been a sales clerk for JC Penney in Topeka, Kansas and with Wal-Mart in Waxahachie.

She is survived by her husband Jack, one son Kenneth and his wife Linda of Homer, Nebraska, 2 daughters, Carol Long of Denton, and Tracy Aitken and her husband James of Scottsdale, Arizona. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, one brother Johnny Mayhew and his wife Dorothy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Travis, one brother, and one sister.

Bonnie liked to spend her time gardening. She was especially fond of roses and anything that attracted butterflies and hummingbirds. She had a loving heart for lost and abandoned animals. She also enjoyed antiquing, decorating, and painting. She loved her children and grandchildren. She was loved immensely and will be greatly missed by all.

The family will recieve friends and relatives from 4 to 6 PM Saturday August 11, 2007 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. A family service will be scheduled at a later date. The family requests that memorials be sent to the Ellis County SPCA or the American Cancer Society.
