Bonnie Johnston

Bonnie Kathryn Chenault Johnston, 86 of Waxahachie, passed away Monday, January 25, 2016 in Mansfield. She was born to the late James Tinsley and Edna Elizabeth Williams Chenault on May 6, 1929 in Ellis County, Texas.Bonnie was raised in Maypearl and graduated from Maypearl High School. She married Thomas Richard Johnston on February 8, 1947. Bonnie was a gifted seamstress, artist, quilter and crafter. She was a longtime devoted member of the Ferris Heights United Methodist Church of Waxahachie. Bonnie loved spending time with her family and doting on her grandchildren and great grandchildren.She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Compton and her husband, Wendell; her son, Tommy Johnston, Jr.; her grandchildren, Stella Marsh and her husband, David, Melissa Johnston and Traci Trull and her husband, Dan; her great grandchildren, Jonathan Dewitt, Felix Reina, Anthony Reina, Dylan Baccus, Brooke Trull and Tayler Trull; her brothers-in-law, Johnny Johnston and his wife, Virginia and David Johnston; her sister-in-law, Virginia Chenault; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, J. T. and Edna Chenault; her husband, Tommy Johnston; her granddaughter, Angela Johnston; her brother, Doug Chenault; her sisters, Helen McCulloch and her husband, W. E., Mildred Tosh and her husband, Jim; she is also preceded in death by her niece, Martha Ellen Tosh; and by her nephew, Larry James Chenault.Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 28, 2016 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Pastor Carol Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at the Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
