Bobby Jenkins

Bobby Joe Jenkins was born March 24, 1931 in Waxahachie, Texas to parents Claude Jenkins and Bessie Iola Glenn Jenkins. He moved to Kilgore Texas at an early age and returned to the Boz community attending school at Maypearl and Forreston. Bobby entered the US Air Force in 1949 and was honorably discharged in 1951. He married Shirley Jean Byrd on November 3, 1953 and they were married 60 years. They had two children: Joe Keith Jenkins and Teresa Kim Jenkins. Bobby was a machinist by trade having worked at Larkin, LTV and retiring from Texas Instruments in 1995. He was a member of First Baptist and Men's Downtown Bible Class. Survivors include his wife, daughter Kim Jones and finance Greg McFadin, grandchildren Mandi Jo Allen and husband Billy, Bradley Wayne Jones and wife Lisa; Billy Joe Jones and wife Missy; great-grandchildren: Max McCullough and Billy Tucker Jones. Also one sister Jean Shinpaugh and husband Oscar and many loving friends and family. He was preceded in death by his son, Joe Keith Jenkins in 1982, his parents, two brothers, four sisters and an infant great grandson, William Keith McAlexander. Those serving as pallbearers include, Layne Shinpaugh, Dewayne Shinpaugh, Gregg Burdette, Al Bratcher, Morris Jenkins and Dale Buckner. Visitation will be held at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home on Monday, January 21, 2013 from 6-8 pm. The Celebration of Bobby's life will be held at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 2:00 pm. Interment following at Hillcrest Burial Park.
