Bobbie Taylor

Born in Ferris, TX, Bobbie moved with her family to Waxahachie and attended elementary, junior high and high school where she was a cheerleader for the Waxahachie Indians. She married in 1950 at her parent's home, raised her family in Waxahachie, and was committed to the community. Bobbie was preceded in death by husband, Barney J. Taylor and parents, Carl (Pete) and Margaret Gressett. Bobbie is survived by her sister, Sherrie (W.L.) Green of Waxahachie, brother, Don (Carol) Gressett of Kingwood, TX, three children: Vicki (Nick, Jr.) Massad of Houston, TX, David (Dave) Taylor of St Louis, MO, Jeff (Judy) Taylor of Waxahachie, six grandchildren: Matthew (Brandi) Taylor, Jeremy (Amy) Taylor, Lindsay (Gary) Willenborg, Margo (Craig) Kaplan, Nicholas III (Monica) Massad, Taylor (Ethan) Tritt, and 12 great grandchildren. Bobbie was involved in many civic programs with the Jaycees-Jayceettes including past State President; a founding member of Parents Against Ingested Narcotics (PAIN); and she and husband, Barney, owned/operated Eubanks Florist for 15 years. Bobbie was the past recipient of the Small Business of the Year awarded by the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce in 1992. Bobbie struggled with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Emphysema which affected the last portion of her life. Bobbie moved from her beloved Waxahachie to live near her daughter Vicki in Houston, TX and enjoyed many active years there. Bobbie never overcame her homesickness and pride for Waxahachie and has now returned at last. Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Rev. Kerry Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Waxahachie. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, December 28, 2012 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
