Billy Hopgood, Sr.

Billy Joe Hopgood, Sr., 66 of Waxahachie, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014 in Waxahachie. Billy was born January 15, 1948 in Waxahachie, Texas to the late Henry W. (Hoppy) & Thelma Lee Sharp Hopgood. He loved fishing, spending time with his family and friends at the Waxahachie Lake camping and loved spoiling his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends and all who knew him and loved him. He is survived by his wife Elaine Hopgood of Waxahachie; 2 Sons: Bobby Joe Hopgood & Billy Joe Hopgood, Jr. both of Waxahachie. 1 Step Daughter: Melody Hill of Whitney, Texas; 1 Brother: Jimmy Leon & Eve Hopgood of Dallas, Texas; 2 Sisters: Deborah Ann & Doug Mosley of Greenville, Alabama and Barbara Sue & Curtis Stuart of Ennis, Texas, 7 Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, 1 Son: Billy Jack Hopgood, 1 Daughter: Michelle Dawn Hopgood. A memorial visitation with the family is scheduled from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday July 25, 2014 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie. A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date.
