Billy James Hassell November 14, 1928 October 25, 2011 Billy James Hassell, 82 of Ferris, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2011 in Ennis. He was born to the late J. W. and Nora Floy Muirhead Hassell on November 14, 1928 in Italy, Texas Billy loved to restore old tractors and raising animals on his farm. He retired from TPL Electric as a Lineman/Local Representative after 46 years of service. Billy will be truly missed by so many who will continually love him. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary Tom Davis Hassell; his son, Larry James Hassell; two daughters, Melinda Hassell Green and her husband, Dennis, Amy Hassell Thompson and her husband, Walter; he is also survived by seven grandchildren, Melissa Dawn Kelly, Jeremy Kyle Pruitt and his wife, Haley, Billy Shane Thompson and his wife, Julie, Staci Thompson Fletcher and her husband, Chad, Brittney Thompson Gribble and her husband, Barrett, Beth Thompson Rochelle and her husband, Tyler; adopted granddaughter, Jenny Slocum; and one very special friend to him, Joshua Harris; also by eleven great grandchildren, Tyler Cole Pruitt, Morgan Bailey Gribble, Gracie Michelle Pruitt, Braden James Thompson, Calli Jo Fletcher, Wyatt Lee Thompson, Lacey Marie Thompson, Abigail Reese Gribble, Eli Tucker Pruitt, Tanner Cole Rochelle; and a adopted great granddaughter, Wilhemina Slocum. Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie. Interment will follow at Elm Branch Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends were held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
