With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Billy Ray “Bill” Corbin on May 30, 2024. Bill was born July 22, 1932 to Warner & Annie (Bailey) Corbin in Kerrville, TX.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Doris, daughters Cindy Black (Gerald) and Lisa Polyak (John), grandchildren; Angela Key (Cameron), Cherie Maddox (Ross), Melissa Barreto (Luis), Mitchell Anderson (Shae), Paul Black (Ashley), Sara Black (Tre Hamilton).
Great Grandchildren; Cohen, Stella, Vance, Finley, Rhett, Ezra, Elliot, Jaedyn, Camila, Cooper, Kylie, Oakley, Nova. He is also cherished by his surviving nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents Warner & Annie, brother W.C. “Dub”, and sister Trilby Talbert.
Bill lived life to the fullest. He served in the US Air Force from 1953-56. He then met the love of his life Doris Aliene Black and they were married June 16, 1957. Bill graduated from UT-Austin in 1959 and moved his family to Dallas, TX where he started his banking career with Mercantile National Bank. He retired in 1995 from First American Savings Banc, and soon after Bill and Doris moved to Gun Barrel City where he enjoyed fishing, watching his local DFW sports teams, and his passion for telling stories of his life’s adventures. Bill and Doris were members of the First Baptist Church in Gun Barrel City.
