Mr. Beggs passed away Sunday night at St. Paul Hospital, Dallas. He was born in Eastland, TX. To John and Fannie (Ruth) Beggs. He graduated from Olden High School. He married Ilene Fox January 15, 1965 in Denton. Billy Joe was a self employed carpenter, later employed with the City of Dallas Zoo where he has been employed for the past 10 years. Billy Joe has been a member of the Landmark Baptist Church of Red Oak for the past 26 years where he was Deacon, Sundy School Teacher and a choir member. He enjoyed football, basketball, gardening, outdoor cooking and keeping his yard nice.

His survivors include: his wife, Ilene Fox Beggs of Red Oak; son, Kelly Beggs of Arlington; daughter, Shannon Yandell of Red Oak; sister, Brenda Matthews of Ranger, TX.; granddaughters, Brittany Beggs of Frisco, Emily, Malisa and Rebekah Crouch. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lonnie, Raymond, Johnnie, Earl , Donald, Monroe and Roy Beggs; sister, Pearl Beggs; and an infant sister, Fannie Evelyn Beggs.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Thursday at the Red Oak Funeral Home. The Celebration of his Life will be 10 AM Friday at the Landmark Baptist Church of Red Oak.
Pallbearers will be Mark Spence, Bruce Bacon, Raymond Westmoreland, Roger Webb, David Lutrick, and Billy Arrington. Interment will follow in the Eastland City Cemetery, Eastland, TX.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or Landmark Baptist Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Red Oak Funeral Home.
