Billie Louise Underwood, 93, a native of Ellis County , passed away Jan 5, 2013, at the Baylor Medical Center in Plano , Texas . Billie was born in 1919 in the Oak community in Ellis County near Waxahachie , Texas . She attended Maypearl schools and graduated from Waxahachie High School . Her college years were spent in Denton where she earned a teaching certificate from the University of North Texas . Billie was a teacher and principal in the Maypearl ISD until her wedding to her childhood sweetheart, James F. Underwood, on June 3, 1942. Billie and James spend the majority of their adult life in Waxahachie. Billie was a devoted homemaker, wife and mother. She was a member of the First United Church in Waxahachie. Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Bess Watson Baird and Ellis Baird of Ellis County and husband of 64 years , James Forrestor Underwood. Surviving family members are: daughter, Stacy Underwood Knightstep and husband, Don, of Plano, Texas and granddaughter Kim Knightstep Monk and her husband, David, and great grandsons, Devin and Gavin Monk of Dallas, daughter, Deena Louise Underwood Murdoch of Ajijic, Mexico and granddaughter, Tiffany Chastain Wilmer and husband, Clayton of Dallas, and great grandchildren, Catherine and Andrew, son Kyle Lenn Underwood and wife, Lori, and her son Noah of Gallatin, Tennessee and Grandchildren, Dane, Kristy, David and his wife Jennifer, Great-grandchildren: Abraham and William. Billie was buried at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery during a private family burial January 6, 2013.
