Billie Jean Wakeland Taulbee

Billie Jean was born on July 29, 1927, and was raised in Forreston. She graduated from Forreston High School, where she excelled in academics and basketball. Her love for the Lord and Christian faith guided her life daily. She was very proud of her family and always enjoyed caring for others. She served as secretary at First Baptist Church, Waxahachie for 25 years, retiring in 1988. In 2002, Billie Jean moved to Bryan to be close to family and was a devoted member of Hillcrest Baptist Church for the past 16 years. She never met a stranger and always greeted others with a sweet, warm, and friendly smile. Her hobbies included gardening and quilting.

Survivors include her children, Kay and husband Dale Brown of Mineral Wells;
Dale Taulbee and wife Lisa of Willow Park; and Kathy and husband Billy Parker
of College Station. Her grandchildren are Chase Brown and wife Collyn of
Highland Village, Bret Brown of Mineral Wells, Lexa Taulbee of Fort Worth,
Melissa Shelton and husband Roy of College Station, and Britni Fangue and
husband Mark of Bryan. She is also survived by great grandchildren, Alyssa and
Cade Brown, Logan, Madison, Kaelyn, and Kaysen Shelton, and Parker Fangue.
Brothers Lon Robert Wakeland and wife Bobbie and Jim Wakeland and wife Janet,
and numerous other loving family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R. B. Taulbee, Jr., and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Wakeland.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
Services to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2018 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Dr. Leroy Fenton officiating. Interment will follow at the Forreston Cemetery.
