Lynn Durward "Bill" Stoffregen, age 87

Mr. Stoffregen, a lifelong Ellis County resident, passed away Thursday morning at Ennis Care Center. He was born in Boyce, TX. to Carl Wesley and Lucy Magnolia (Nash) Stoffregen. He served in the US Army during World War II. "Bill" married Mary Helen Porterfield on January 18, 1937 in Italy, TX. He was employed with Norgas (now Ferrel Gas) for thirty six years as a mechanic. Mr. Stoffregen was a member of the Ferris Heights United Methodist Church.
"Bill" is survived by: his wife, Mary Helen; daughter, Jeanette Stoffregen and husband Jim; granddaughters, Lisa Ricketts and husband David of Carolina, Rhode Island, Vicki Thompson and husband Troy, and Anjanette Jones and husband Carey, all of Waxahachie; great grandsons, Joshua and Jonathan Ricketts of Rhode Island and Hayden Jones of Waxahachie; great granddaughters, Kayla and Kimberly Thompson of Waxahachie and Elizabeth Ricketts of Rhode Island; and a sister, Madalyn Hickman of Ft. Worth. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.
The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Friday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 3 PM Saturday, October 11, 2003 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Reverend John Shipman and Pastor Bruce Zimmerman officiating. Pallbearers will be Don Prince, Jon Prince, Troy Thompson, Carey Jones, Billy Joe Stoffregen and Ted Brown. Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Thompson, Bob Thompson, Durward Bartlett, Jack Bartlett, Larry Stoffregen, Gary Stoffregen, Teddy Stoffregen, Billy H. Stoffregen, Barry Stoffregen, Glenn Stoffegen, Ronnie White and Joe White. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Burial Park.
Memorials may be made to Ferris Heights United Methodist Church or Family First Hospice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
