Bill Hobbs

Billy "Bill" Don Hobbs, 70 of Waxahachie, Texas passed away Monday, November 25, 2013 in Dallas, Texas. He was born in Berkley, California on June 12, 1943 to Melvin & Norma June Gibson Hobbs. He was raised in Haskell, Oklahoma where he graduated in the top third of his class from Haskell High School in 1961. He attended OSU for six years and holds a Bachelor's Degree in technical writing. He worked at LTV as a technical writer for ten years and Owens Corning as a production planner for 20 years and Puppet productions as a supervisor for ten years. He was a very honest, dependable, hardworking man that loved air planes, riding motorcycles, archery and reading. He was a lifetime member of the Motorcycle Riders Club of America. He loved animals; he was an avid rescuer of many abandoned dogs that he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and June Hobbs of Haskell, Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife Sharon of forty years, 4 children: Shelly and her husband Ralph Brown of Waynesboro, TN, Sheila and her fiancé Mark Wells of Springtown, Texas, Shawn Hobbs and his wife Crystal of Waynesboro, TN, and Brandy and her husband Matthew Taylor of Waxahachie, Texas, 4 grandchildren: Colton and Cassie Hobbs of Waynesboro, TN and Ariel Mason and Braxton Taylor of Waxahachie, Texas. 3 Brothers: Mike Hobbs and his wife Viola of Defiance, Ohio, Steve Hobbs and his wife Susie Hobbs of Haskell, Oklahoma and Clay Hobbs and his wife Vicki of Haskell, Oklahoma; 1 Nephew and 7 nieces and a host of other family and friends. Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain Peak Cemetery near Midlothian, Texas. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, November 29, 2013 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
