William Otto "Bill" Edwards, Jr.

William Otto "Bill" Edwards, Jr., 82, of Waxahachie, passed away Monday, January 19, 2009, at Trinity Mission Nursing Home in Italy. He was born to the late William Otto Sr. and Olga Vashti Roberts Edwards on May 24, 1926.

Bill proudly served our country in the United States Navy during WW II. He was a manager for ADP Tool Design LTV Aerospace and Defense Company in Dallas, Texas. Bill was a member of the Park Meadows Baptist Church. Earlier in his life, he served as a Deacon and sang in the choir at Wynnewood Baptist in Oak Cliff. He was a Master Mason at the Mason Grand Lodge of Texas in Oak Cliff. Bill loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was a tool designer and inventor, and loved his workshop. He enjoyed his dogs, loved birds and fishing. Bill will be missed by so many who knew him and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his son, Michael David Edwards; and by his sister, Mary Ruth Kluge.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, June Edwards; 2 sons, Patrick Thomas Edwards and his wife, Nancy, Joseph Donald Edwards and his wife, Helen; his daughter-in-law, Janet Edwards; his grandchildren, Chris Edwards and his wife, Niecy, Ryan Edwards, Casey Edwards, April Moon and her husband, Trey, Chess Edwards, William Edwards, and Bobby Kelly; great grandchildren, Tyler Edwards, Brady Moon, Braxton Moon, Crystal Edwards, and Christopher Edwards.

Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 22, 2009 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie, with Dr. Joe Langley officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Grove Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Dallas with military honors.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
