Beverly Salisbury

Beverly Eve Salisbury passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Tuesday,
August 5th at home.  Eve was born in Waxahachie, Texas on August 4, 1944 to Erin and J.T. Johnston.  She attended school at Forreston and graduated from Waxahachie High School.

After high school she attended Navarro College and Trinity University.  Her first job after college was as executive secretary for The Oakwood Corporation in Newport Beach, where she met and married James McDuffie with whom she worked.  They moved back to Waxahachie where she worked for Bell Telephone, AT&T, and the United States Postal Service.

In retirement she enjoyed being home with her dogs, cats, a donkey, a horse, and a potbellied pig.  She rescued many animals that were dropped new her home, taking them in, and never saying no.  She was an avid reader, loved researching family history, and staying connected to friends and family across the country.

Eve was preceded in death by her parents, Father J.T. and Mother Erin Birch Johnston. And brother Jim Tom Johnston.

Eve is survived by her son, John Patrick McDuffie of Waxahachie, sister Tippi Pyle of Toluca Lake, California, nephew Cameron Wardlaw of Burbank, California, niece Carmen Cashat (Robert) of Richland Chambers Lake, niece Tonya Koopman (Patrick) of Waxahachie, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Private graveside services were conducted by the Reverend Ann Smith.  Due to Covid-19.  Those who wish to send a memorial may do so to the Waxahachie Animal Shelter.
