Mrs. Beverly L. Presley-Almand, wife of James M. Almand, Sr., and daughter of the late Wendell Lee and Patsy L. Presley was born April 17, 1948 in Waxahachie, Texas. She attended the public schools of Waxahachie, where she graduated Waxahachie High School before she was enrolled at North Texas State University where she studied art.
Beverly married the love of her life and best friend James M. Almand, Sr. on 14 August of 1964. This union was blessed with three children; James M. Almand, Jr., N. Suzanne Almand Riojas, and Patrick E. Almand.
Mrs. Almand was born with a volunteer spirit and made many positive impacts to her community of Waxahachie. She served in leadership roles in multiple clubs including The Symphony League- Board of Directors, Mothers Club- President, Garden Club, Shakespeare Club, and was inducted into the Outstanding Women of the South. Her guidance, drive, and participation in the clubs led to numerous awards. Beverly loved to be involved with her children and was a Cub Scout leader for both of her sons and was a school "Room Mother" for all three of her children. Another one of Beverly's passion was reading and books. She volunteered at the school library and helped establish RIF in the Waxahachie public schools. Beverly could always be found reading when she wasn't volunteering or taking care of her family.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her husband, children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband James M. Almand, Sr. of Waxahachie, TX; children: James M. Almand, Jr. and wife Theresa of Denton, TX, N. Suzanne Almand Riojas and husband Jesse of Waxahachie, TX, Patrick E. Almand and wife Megan of Dallas, TX; three grandsons: Andrew A. Broad of Gulf Shores, AL, Jack E. Almand of Dallas, TX and Luke Almand of Dallas, TX; siblings: Nancy Mason and husband Johnny of Waxahachie, TX, and David Presley and wife Terry of Waxahachie, TX, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will be receiving visitors on Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 7pm - 9pm at Wayne Boze Funeral Home located at 1826 W. Highway 287 Business, Waxahachie, TX 75165. Services will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 2pm at Wayne Boze Funeral Home with graveside services immediately following at Gateway Memorial Park at 2319 W. Highway 287 Business, Waxahachie, TX 75167.
