Betty Story

February 8, 1932 — April 21, 2019

Betty Fern Story, 87 of Waxahachie, TX, went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019. Betty was born on February 8,1932 to Arnel and Thelma Rudd in Forreston TX. Her brother Charles, when returning home from World War II, met JC Story, (also returning from World War II) on a train ride from California. They struck up a friendship, and discovered they were both from the Waxahachie area. Charles introduced Betty to JC and after her four brothers, and 'Big Daddy' Betty's Father, who were all twice the size of JC, agreed they would allow them to see each other, that lead to their marriage on August 30, 1949. Their union continued for 68 years until JC's death on May 20, 2017. Betty and JC were life long residents of Waxahachie and had two sons, James Michael Story and Terry Lynn Story. Betty and JC were life long members of the South Prong Baptist Church where they both worked tirelessly for their church and their neighbors.

Betty has now gone home to be with her earthly companion and love JC and with Jesus Christ her Heavenly Father. Betty's family knows that she and JC are now with the Rudd clan, setting in the shade of pecan trees, with their greyhounds around them telling stories and laughing together for eternity.

Betty is survived by her sons, James Michael Story of Waco, TX and wife, Faye Coley Story, Terry Lynn Story of Virginia and wife, Susan Helms Story; five grandchildren, Sarah Story Klein Masterson and her husband, Noah; Carrie Story Livesay and her husband, Russell; Elizabeth Story Shahan and her husband Brian; Aundra Nicole Story, Ryan Arnel Story, TX and wife, Katie. Also surviving Betty are her eight great-grandchildren, Michael Clarke Livesay, Charlotte Faye Livesay, Kathryn Leigh Livesay, Amelia Elaine Livesay, Ava Louise Masterson, John Charles Masterson, Lucian Rose Shahan, and Jones McCluer Shahan,Charles Story, Eden Forbus . Also surviving Betty are her very special long time neighbors, Linda and Steven Pena.

Betty is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews from the Rudd and Story families.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Thelma Rudd, her brothers Charles, Randall, Blaine and Wayne Rudd.

Betty was a very proud and protective Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. It was her delight to have her family visit and see as many pictures of them as possible. Her love for her family was obvious to all around her.
