Betty Shuptrine

Betty Rae Shuptrine was born in Wilmer, Texas June 13th, 1928. She went home to be with the Lord June 27th, 2021. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Inez Harvey and sisters, Geneva Pate, Dorothy Bass and Nelda Baxter. She is survived by her brother, Bill Harvey and wife Quessie.

Betty became a follower of Christ at an early age in a revival meeting in Concord, Texas. She was married to James Robert Wolfe and was preceded in death by her sons Michael Robert Wolfe and Travis Keith Wolfe. She is survived by her son James Patrick Wolfe and wife, Kylene, son Kevin Vernon Wolfe and wife Deborah, and daughter Betty Kathleen Tucker and husband Richard. She later married James Andrew Shuptrine who preceded her in death as well as stepson Michael Shuptrine. She is survived by stepdaughter Linda English and husband, Jim.

Betty was a member of Patrick Baptist Church for over 60 years. She served as a janitor, nursery attendant, Sunday school teacher and pianist. She was a tax accessor and collector for the Wilmer Hutchins Independent School District Tax Office for 27 years.

She was a wife, a mother, and Aunt to many, Grandmother to 24 grandchildren, and Great Grandmother to 24 great grandchildren. Betty was a wonderful friend and loved her family and neighbors.

Her hobbies included road trips, playing and listening to hymns at church, studying church history, reading, caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and visiting family and friends. She loved her country and her God. She would say she had a tough time turning the other cheek, but we all knew that wasn’t true. She loved with all she had. Betty’s loved ones take comfort in knowing she is in the place she spent her entire life planning to go.

A visitation will be held at Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas on July 6th from 6pm to 8pm. Services will be held at Patrick Baptist Church in Ferris, Texas on July 7th at 10am. Interment at Ferris Memorial will follow services.
