Betty Jo Grider Smith Huskins, 82, passed away Friday, April 28, 2006, at Red Oak Rehabilitation Center. Betty Jo was born in the community of Sowers, a suburb of Irving, Texas on January 25, 1924 to Atlas and Jodie Grider.

She is survived by her daughter and husband, Ann and George Robards; sons, Raymond and Dorothy Smith, James Wilbur Smith and Dennis and Cindy Smith, all of Waxahachie; and a brother, James A. and Barbara Grider of Aubrey; 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Edward Caruthers, Raymond L. Smith, and Guy Huskins; and one granddaughter, Virginia Jo Durham and a sister, Catherine Schultz of Irving, Texas.

Family visitation will be 6-8 PM Sunday, April 30 at Red Oak Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1 PM Monday, May 1, 2006 at the Red Oak Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Mayfield officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Jeffrey Smith, Dennis Smith, Jr. Jimmy Caruthers, Randy Huskins, Danny Huskins, Phillip Paris and Clint Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be G. W. Burnett and Larry Kerby. Interment will follow at 3 PM at the Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, Irving, Texas.
