Betty Davis

Betty Boswell Davis, 80 passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013 at the Baptist Hospice Home in Collierville , TN. She was born in Dallas , Texas on June 16, 1932 to Jessie and Katie Bryant. She attended Irving area schools, she married Wesley L. Boswell on November 26, 1949 in Irving , Texas . Betty moved to Waxahachie from South Oak Cliff in 1967. She helped her husband for 25 years as a self-employed house painter. Betty was a member of the First Assembly of God for many years and later joined the Waxahachie Bible Church , she enjoyed gardening, quilting, playing the piano, visiting with friends and family, crocheting and baking and loved vacationing in the mountains in Red River , New Mexico . After the death of Mr. Boswell she married Curtis Davis on May 06, 2006 in Sugar Land , Texas . She will be dearly missed by her family and everyone who knew her and loved her. She is survived by her 3 daughters: Cynthia June Boswell of Fort Worth, Texas; Gloria Jean Phelps and husband Jimmy of Millington, TN, and Glenda Lee Holmes and husband Bradley of Green River, WY; 5 Grandchildren: Shane Phelps and wife Mandy, Aaron McCoy, Heath Phelps and wife Shannon, Wade and Autumn Holmes, 1 Great Grandson: Hayden Phelps. She is also survived by 2 brothers: RT Bryant and wife Helen of Alba, Texas and Kelsey Bryant and wife Lula of Irving, Texas 1 Sister: Sylvia Deal of Irving , Texas and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter and son in law; Rebecca and Jim Frank McCoy, a granddaughter Kaylee Renee Holmes and 2 Brothers: JB and Leon, husbands Wesley Lee Boswell and James Curtis Davis. Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the Bethel United Methodist Church off Five Points Road in the community of Bethel . Interment will follow at the Bethel Cemetery . Pallbearers will be Aaron McCoy, Jimmy, Shane and Heath Phelps, Wayne Whitt, Bradley and Wade Holmes.
