Betty Cox

Betty Cox, 78 of Waxahachie, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 in a Dallas hospital. She was born on April 15, 1936 in Milford, Texas to the late William A. and Essie L. Yarborough Elmore. Betty loved to read her bible daily and enjoyed going to church at South Prong Baptist Church where she was a member. She graduated from Frost High School in 1954 and met James Cox shortly after. They married after James enlisted in the Army where he completed a two year tour in Germany. Following, they settled in Waxahachie and raised their family. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking and taking care of her grandchildren. We thank God you were our Mother and although it hurts to say goodbye, we will cherish the many memories, knowing one day our tears will dry. Goodbye Mom, we will see you in Heaven. She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Sharp and Tammy Jones and her husband, Jim; her son, Ricky Cox; her triplet brothers, Bobby Elmore and his wife, Dorothy, Billy Elmore; also survived by her brothers and sisters, Harold Elmore and his wife, Robbie, Doris Calahan and her husband, Loyd, Laverne "Sis" Walles and her husband, Jessie, Kenneth Elmore and his wife, Pat and Luann Kyte and her husband, Harley; her grandchildren, Casey Sullivan; Justin Golden; J. T. Powers; B. J. Sharp; Aaron Golden; Brittany Cervantes; Great Grandchildren, Christian Sullivan, Alexis Sullivan, Sean Sullivan, Faith Powers, Bailey Powers, Jay Cervantes, Joey Cervantes, Hunter Golden, Adisyn Golden, Jeremy Powers, Jr., Kylee Golden. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Louis Cox; her sister, Frances Bell. Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Forreston Cemetery.
