Bernie Michael "Mike" Aman

March 5, 1951 — March 2, 2025

Waxahachie

Mike, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather went home to be with the Lord on March 2, 2025, at the age of 73. A man of faith, integrity, and service, he spent 45 years, 5 months, and 19 days in law enforcement with the Waxahachie Police Department, Dallas County DA, and Ellis County DA, dedicating his life to protecting others and seeking justice.

Born on March 5, 1951, in Houston, Texas, Mike felt called to serve his community at an early age. As a police officer and later a detective, he worked tirelessly to uphold the law with fairness, wisdom, and compassion. He was respected by his colleagues and deeply valued by those he helped throughout his career.

Mike will be remembered for his unwavering faith, dedication to justice, and deep love for his family. His legacy of service, love, and devotion to God will continue to inspire all who knew him. He was known by many as “The Reverend”.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Hilde Aman; his son Mike Aman & wife Jennifer Aman; daughter Michelle Hatch & husband Brad Hatch; son Joey Aman & wife Kenzie Aman; his grandchildren: Dylan & Brady Aman and Garrett & Wyatt Hatch; and a host of extended family friends. He is now reunited in heaven with parents Ocil and Sophia Aman; Hugh and Rosemarie Womack.

Per Mike’s wishes, a graveside service will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Dawson Cemetery in Dawson, Texas. In lieu of flowers, he would be honored by your making a donation to the Missions Fund at Heritage Baptist Church in Waxahachie, Texas.

Though he has left this world, we find comfort in knowing he is resting in the arms of his Savior. His Lord said unto him, “Well, done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:23
