Barbara Wright

Barbara Jane Wright, 83, of Waxahachie, TX went to be with the Lord on June 10, 2011. She was a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother. Barbara is survived by her husband of sixty years, Loyd Wright, daughter Jeannie York and husband Larry of Cleburne, daughter Cindy Fountain and husband David of Waxahachie, son Eric Wright and wife Dee of Mansfield, grandchildren Jared York and wife Megan, Brittany York, and Cody and Haley Wright. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Lee and Bertha Adams and brother, Farrell Adams. Barbara was born in Rochelle, LA on December 8, 1927, and spent her childhood in Alexandria, LA. She attended LSU, graduated at age 19, receiving a B.S. in chemistry. She worked as a chemist in New Orleans and moved to College Station, TX, to work in the chemistry department at Texas A&M College. While at A&M, she met Loyd and they were married on September 29, 1951 in Alexandria. Barbara poured her life into her children and grandchildren. She loved cooking for family and friends and mastered the art of sewing. She was an active member of First Baptist Lancaster for many years before moving to Waxahachie and becoming a member of First Baptist Waxahachie. Her beautiful smile, which touched the hearts of everyone she met, will be missed. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2011 at the First Baptist Church, Waxahachie with Dr. Leroy Fenton and Rev. Larry York officiating. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
