Barbara Harris

Barbara Elizabeth Hunt Harris, 67 of Forreston, Texas, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at her home following a battle with cancer. She was born to the late Louis and Jewell Hunt on March 24, 1946 in Stephenville, Texas. She married Lynn Harris, her high school sweetheart on June 1, 1964. Barbara retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 20 years as a rural mail carrier. After retirement she joined the Waxahachie Senior Center where she was also a helper, and made many friends. She enjoyed spending many hours crocheting. She and her husband are members of Victory Baptist Church in Waxahachie, Texas. She was devoted to her husband of 49 years and their 4 children. She truly loved her family, friends, and the many memories that have been created. Barbara will be missed by the many that knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Lynn Harris; her three sons: Mark Harris of Forreston, Texas; Coy Harris of Forreston, Texas; David Harris of Forreston, Texas; and one daughter Cecilia Carter of Comanche, Texas; 11 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren; 2 brothers; William Charles Hunt and wife Karen of Felton, Pennsylvania; Kenneth Hunt and wife Alesa of Stephenville, Texas; 1 sister Carolyn Doughty and husband Donnie of Stephenville, Texas; and many Nieces and Nephews. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas. Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Victory Baptist Church in Waxahachie, Texas officiated by Pastor Rodney Holliday. Burial will be at the Forreston Cemetery in Forreston, Texas. Pallbearers will be Colton Harris, Jacob Aparicio, Mark Harris, Jr., Kurt Hunt, Bobby McBride, and Robert Junkin.
