Mrs. Grimes went to her heavenly father Sunday at her residence in Waxahachie.
Barbara Ann Grimes was born in Waxahachie to Jack R and Stella Alma (Ruebel) Steel. She attended Waxahachie Schools and married Mickey Grimes, September 4, 1959 in Waxahachie. Mrs. Grimes was a loving homemaker who loved and enjoyed her family. She was a faithful member of the Bible Baptist Church of Waxahachie for 29 years and was a member of the Choir.
She is survived by 2 sons; Mike L Grimes of Palmer, Pastor Todd Grimes and his wife Joyce of Waxahachie, 2 grandsons; Jacob Michael and Colton Jeremy. Also surviving are 3 sisters; Ruth Beckham of Gainesville, Tiny Steel of Waxahachie, Deborah Benner and her husband Harold of Ennis, 3 brothers; JB Steel and his wife Alice of Cedar Creek, Dan Steele and his wife Mary of Waxahachie, Pat Steel of Canton, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Mickey; sister Rita Mae and brothers, Bobby Earl Steel and James Rueben Steel.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday evening at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at the Bible Baptist Church, 1400 FM1446, Waxahachie with JR Taylor, Jeremy Taylor, and Todd Grimes officiating. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Randall Potter, Ricky Harris, Bobby McBride, Phillip Carroll, Chris Aday, and Brian Hicks.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jacob Grimes, Alex Hicks, Blake Hicks, Josuah Hicks, Zackary Hicks and Luke Whitaker.
The family request that memorial be made to the Bible Baptist Church, 1400 FM1446, Waxahachie, Texas 75167.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home-Waxahachie.
