Audra Beatrice Compton, 98 of Waxahachie, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 7, 2015 in Waxahachie. She was born to the late Clyde Honsinger and Eula Marshall Honsinger on September 4, 1916 in Caddo, Oklahoma. Audra was also preceded in death by two sisters, Essie Mae Hamilton and Jasmine "Jackie" Ballentyne; as well as nephew Ronnie Sanchez. Audra moved to Waxahachie, Texas, in 2002 from Newport Beach, California. Audra worked for Hughes Aircraft, later acquired by Raytheon Corporation, where she was the final inspector of aircraft and guided missile components. Audra is survived by her niece, LaNell Yeats and husband Conard of Waxahachie, Texas; her nephew, Dan Hamilton and wife Sonja of Fillmore, Oklahoma; her niece, Sandra Kenaston of Long Beach, California; and several more generations of nieces and nephews. Audra was a member of Farley Street Baptist Church where she leaves a host of warm friends. Audra was a person of strong character and a gentle spirit. She will be missed by all who loved her. A graveside service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Gethsemane Cemetery in Caddo, Oklahoma with Bro. Anthony Williams officiating.
