Aubrey Q Berry, age 89
October 28, 1918
November 30, 2007

Mr. Berry passed away Friday morning at Baylor Hospital in Waxahachie. Mr. Berry was born in the Avalon Area of Ellis County to Lonnie and Effie (Padgett) Berry. He graduated Salutatorian at Avalon High School, the first graduating class of the new building at that time. He married Leatrice Peterson June 25, 1947 in Essex, Iowa. Aubrey had been employed with Lockeed Martin Aircraft prior to his serving in the US Army during WWII and has since been a lifelong farmer in the Avalon Area. He was a 32nd degree Mason, Shriner, Scottish Rite, and past member of the Avalon Lions Club. Aubrey was a member of the Park Presbyterian Church in Italy, and President of the Hughes Cemetery Association.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Leatricia Berry of Avalon, and his daughter Cheryl Berry-Turner and her husband Phil of Waxahachie. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8 PM Saturday evening at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2:00 PM Sunday, December 2, 2007 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Brown and Brother Grady Cashion officiating. Interment will follow at the Hughes Cemetery in Avalon.
Pallbearers will be: Joe Wilson, Jerry Wilson, Bill Southard, Kenneth Southard, Mike Boyd, Robert Owens. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Sterling Worthy, Kenneth Wilson, BD Wakeland, and George Grammer.

Memorials may be made to the Park Presbyterian Church in Italy.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
