Arthur Lee "Art" Keenom 08-28-1929 10-16-2010 Arthur Lee "Art" Keenom, 81 of Waxahachie, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his family. He lived all of his life in Waxahachie and was born to the late Clyde and Margaret Paul Keenom on August 28, 1929 in Waxahachie. Arthur loved being a farmer. He worked 28 years as a A&P Mechanic for Braniff and 10 years as an A&P Mechanic for Dalfort Aviation. Later in life he was very proud of his garden and loved gardening. He enjoyed playing 42 and was a member of College Street Church of Christ for over 60 years. He is survived by his wife, Lena Keenom of Waxahachie; his daughters, Debora McDaniel and her husband, Roy of Houston, Barbara Stickles and her husband, Sterling of Poteet, Laura Ford and her husband, Tom of Kalamazoo, MI, Rose Ramos and her husband, Martin of Roanoke, Leann Keenom of Irving; his step sons, Elliott Miller of Mansfield, Vincent Miller of Waxahachie; his sisters, Mary Ann Fikes of Arlington, Edna Mae Snyder of Mansfield, Margaret Lee of Alvarado and Betty Loyd of Waxahachie; he is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 1 great great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy Keenom; 2 brothers, Robert Keenom and Walter Keenom; and his grandson, Kevin McDaniel. Those serving as pallbearers will be all of his grandchildren, of whom he was most proud. Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Walter Buchanan officiating. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.
