Armandina Leal

On Tuesday, December 28, 2021, our beloved mother and Wella, Armandina Acevedo Leal, passed away at age 81.

Armandina was born on January 18, 1940, in Hebbronville, Texas to parents Senen and Ophelia Acevedo.  She grew up in Freer, TX. She married Guadalupe Leal on Christmas Eve in 1958. They were married for 35 years until he passed in 1993. Together they had six children – 5 sons and 1 daughter

She spent the majority of her career as a care giver and loved her patients like family as they did her. She was a member of the Epiphany Catholic church in Italy, TX where she also sang in the choir.

Outside of the church choir, she loved to sing karaoke and absolutely loved dancing. She deeply cared for her children, grand children and great grand children as well as many others in the community whom she fed, encouraged and treated as her own. She was passionate about helping all who couldn’t help themselves even when she wasn’t in good health. She loved family gatherings/barbecues and being surrounded by friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Senen and Ofelia Acevedo, her husband Guadalupe Leal, her son Ruben Leal, great grandson Samuel Turnbo and several siblings.

She is survived by her 5 children, Roque Leal, Guadalupe "Wally" Leal Jr. and spouse Rhonda Leal, Cosme Leal and spouse Robin Leal, Melinda Leal, and Noel Leal as well as 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren:
