Anne Lockman, age 93

The angels called for Anne Lockman, "Nana" at her home in Waxahachie, Texas on June 18, 2008. She was born on January 31, 1915 in Detroit, Michigan, the eldest of seven children. A great beauty, she began her working life as a print model and later in life was taped in movies "1918" and "Places In The Heart". In 1937, she moved to New York City where she became a manager at Stouffer's Restaurant on Manhattan's 5th Avenue. In 1944 she married a native Texan, James Claude Lockman. They made their home in Hemet, California before relocating to Waxahachie in 1948.

An active member of Central Presbyterian Church for almost sixty years, she appreciated the simple joys of life. Personable, with a great sense of humor, she enjoyed the company of many wonderful friends and greatly loved her family. She loved to garden and delighted especially in roses and wildflowers. She had a passion for learning and shared her knowledge to improve childrens reading skills. We are proud of her, love her deeply, and will miss her.

She was the first born child of Michael and Susan Liba. She was predeceased by her husband, James C. Lockman, brother William "Bill" Liba and sister, Irene Liba. She is survived by her brother Joe Liba and wife Margot, her brother Dr. Richard Liba, sisters Dorothy Liba and Pauline Cecil. She is also survived by her son, Paul A. Lockman and his wife Diane; daughter Claudia Lockman. Grandchildren, Elisa Lockman Denkler, Dr. Juliana Lockman, Anna Marissa Lockman and James A. Lockman; and greatgrandchildren, Addision Klepper, Emma Klepper and Brett Denkler.

Services will be held on Monday, June 23, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Central Presbyterian Church, 402 N. College Street, Waxahachie with burial to follow at the Cleburne Memorial Cemetery. Visitation on Sunday, June 22 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Paul Lockman, James Lockman, John Denkler, Roger Ratliff, John Hawley, Bob Tingdale. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Liba and Dr. Richard Liba.
