Ann Ruth DeBord Perry Stanford passed away on June 10, 2022, at her home in Waxahachie, Texas at the age of 93.

Ann was born in Sulphur Springs, Texas on April 9, 1929, the only child of Charles Robert DeBord and Annie DeBord, nee’ Tomlinson.

Growing up Ann was an independent child and quite the tomboy. She was tall, athletic and loved to ride horses and play sports.  She met her first husband, William F. Perry (Bill) in Sulphur Springs and they married and had eight children together.  Ann and Bill settled in Red Oak, Texas in 1955.  Ann was widowed young and through friends she met her second husband Von Gene Stanford of Red Oak.  Von and Ann married on March 27, 1970; and become partners not only in marriage but in business.  Ann and Von ran a variety of businesses, but when they opened their catering business, Appe’teaser Catering they found their true calling.   Ann was a fabulous cook and she and Von with son John operated a successful catering business for nearly 30 years before selling the business in 2016 to retire.

Ann is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Von, her son James, daughter Billie, grandsons Sean and Brandon and granddaughter Emily and great granddaughter Britany.  She is survived by her children Becky Cockerham, husband Doug, Bobby Perry and his wife Jan, Rilla Perry, widow of James, daughter Katie Shaw and husband Bob, daughter Tracy McBride and her husband Ross, son John Perry and his wife Jo and daughter Shelly Baumann.  Ann is also survived by ten grandchildren Camille, DeAnn, Bradley, Kristi, Bill, Jennifer, Renee’, Brenna, Chance and Will, 14 great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.

Ann always said her greatest accomplishment in life was raising her eight children to be hard working responsible people and she was extremely proud of her children, and they all loved, respected and cared for their Mom and will miss her so much.

The family wishes to thank Cindy Walker for her care and friendship to Miss Ann over the last 2 1/2 years. The family also wishes to thank Emily and Greg Pickett, Ann and Von’s neighbors for being the very best neighbors and friends to their parents.  A special thank you to Emily, a nurse, who provided care to both Ann and Von many times.  The family also thanks Bristol Hospice for their care of Miss Ann.
