Amy Ray

Amy Jo Johnston Ray, 37 of Waxahachie, passed away Monday, August 26, 2013 in Dallas. She was born October 21, 1975 in Dallas. Amy is survived by her husband John Ray, parents Randy and Annita Johnston and Sophie and Danny Bailey; brothers, Derek Johnston, Michael Shawn (Lori) McCorkle; sister, Kristina McCorkle Foster; mother-in-law Patricia Kane Ray, brother-in-law Billy (Dawn) Ray and sister-in-law Charlotte (Mark) Ballard; Grandmothers, Willie Johnston and Frances Shrader; grandfather; Dennis Crecelius; neice and nephews, Maylie and Spencer McCorkle and Julian Shirley; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ada Ruth Crecelius; her grandfathers, Glenn Johnston and T. E. Shrader; and father-in-law, William Larry Ray. Amy was a graduate of Waxahachie High School and a lifelong resident. There are so many memories that family and friends have of Amy. She had a beautiful smile and was a very loving and outgoing. She never met a stranger and was dearly loved her friends children as if they were her own. They all referred to her as their MeMe. She will forever be missed, continually loved and never forgotten. Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2013 at The Avenue Church, Waxahachie. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.
