Alvin O'Neal "Neal" Long, 85 of Waxahachie, passed away Monday, October 27, 2008 at his residence. He was born on December 18, 1922 in Corsicana, Texas.

Neal proudly served in the United States Army and was a veteran of WWII. He retired after 30 years of service from Vaught Aircraft. While working at Vaught he proudly worked on the Stealth Bomber. He enjoyed wood working, fishing, and spending time with his family. Neal was caring, very loving and will be missed by so many who knew him and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Opal Long of Waxahachie; his daughter, Pam Mitchell of Waxahachie; his granddaughter, Bethany Millican and her husband, Jimmy of Palmer; and his great grandson, Augustus "Gus" Millican of Palmer.

Neal was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John Melvin Long.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 30, 2008 at the Waxahachie City Cemetery with Buddy Petty officiating.

Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
