Allen "Jack" Hassell passed away at Baylor Medical Center, Waxahachie. He was born in Sardis, Texas to Allen Bingham Hassell Sr., and Leta (Kelly) Hassell. He served in the U.S. Army and was a truck driver for Burleson Honey of Waxahachie. He also was the caretaker for the Sardis Cemetery for many years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the Coffee Club at Whataburger.

Mr. Hassell is survived by 3 nieces, Patricia Stinson of Grapevine, Shirley Terry of Red Oak and Mary Nell Griffith. Also surviving are two nephews, Tommy Hollabaugh of Waxahachie, Jon Few of Midlothian , a cousin, Miles Roe of Waxahachie and one sister, Pauline Few of Midlothian. He was preceded in death by his wife Jewell Hassell.

A graveside service in scheduled for 2 PM, Tuesday, December 30th, 2003 at Sardis Cemetery with Reverend Tom Pyburn officiating.
