Alleen Herrington, age 85

Ms. Herrington passed away at her Waxahachie residence Thursday morning. She was born in the Nash Community to John Bunyon and Ollie (Roebuck) Herrington, Sr.
Ms. Herrington, a graduate of Trinity University, taught school for 30 years in South Oak Cliff. She was very active in the Eastern Star and a member of the YMCA High Steppers Dance Club. Ms. Herrington was a long time member of Ferris Heights United Methodist Church.

Ms. Herrington is survived by: one brother, John B. Herrington, Jr. of Waxahachie; two nephews, John B. Herrington, III of New York, NY and Guy R. Herrington of Petaluma, CA.; one niece, Mary H. Dinger of Lake Charles, LA.; three grand nieces, Jennifer Rebecca Hassell of Washington, D.C., Sarah D. Mayon of Morgan City, LA. and Vicky L. Dinger of Baton Rouge, LA. and one great grand nephew, Dylon J. Mayon of Morgan City, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for 10 AM Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at Ferris Heights United Methodist Church with Reverend John Shipman officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
