Mrs. Carter passed away Tuesday evening at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab in Italy, Texas. She was born September 27, 1914 to John and Nettie (Hitt) Murray. She married John Willis Carter October 1, 1931. She was a lifetime member of the Methodist Church in Italy.

Mrs. Carter is survived by: two sons, John Willis Carter, Jr. and wife Jo of Dallas, TX. and James Murray Carter and wife Beverly of Italy, TX.; sister, Nettie Mae Roberts and husband Roscoe of Hillsboro, TX. She was blessed to have six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She is also survived by a very special friend, Olga Vargas. She was preceded in death by her husband and three brothers.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Thursday, August 12, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church in Italy. The Celebration of Life will be 2:00 PM Friday, August 13, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church in Italy with Reverend Joe Chamness officiating. Pallbearers will be Howard Morgan, Weldon Holley, Sonny Southard, Jim Poole, Ronald Janek, Ronnie Hyles and Chuck Adams. Honorary pallbearers will be John Bob Maxwell, Jimmy Whitson, David McClure, Joe Herd, Charles Adams, Clay Hinds and John Campo. Interment will follow in the Italy Cemetery.
