Alice Cavender

Alice Jean "Jeanie" Cavender, age 78, a lifetime Ellis County resident, passed away early Sunday morning at the Claystone Nursing Center , Ennis , Texas . She was born in Dallas , Texas to D. T. Horn Sr. and Ruby (Hill) Horn. Jeanie attended Waxahachie High School before she married on June 10, 1951, to William Charles Cavender who preceded her in death on September 30, 2004. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was of the Presbyterian faith. Jeanie is survived by two sons, David Cavender and wife, Cyndi of Ennis; Tim Cavender of Arlington; four grandsons, Nathaniel, Turner, Zachary, Dillon Cavender; a sister, Jan McCartney of Houston; a niece, Mary Beth Hodges of Waxahachie, Grandchildren: Jennifer, Amanda, Bethany, Andrew, Joseph, Anthony, Dusty and Corey. Jeanie was also preceded in death by two sons, Charles and infant, John Eric and 1 great grandchild. The family will receive friends and family on Monday, February 27 from 6-8 p.m. at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be on Tuesday, February 28 at 10 a.m. with graveside services and interment at Hillcrest Burial Park with Pastor Keith Murray officiating. Pallbearers will be David Cavender, Tim Cavender, Nathaniel Cavender, Turner Cavender, Zachary Cavender, Dillon Cavender, Joe Koss, Andrew Koss Memorials may be made to the Lone Star Lions Eye Bank.
