Mrs. Carroll, a lifelong resident of Waxahachie, passed away early Wednesday morning at her residence. Alice was born in Waxahachie to Wallace and Jennie (Hardeman) Handley. She attended Waxahachie Schools and married John Hardy Carroll June 2, 1945 in Waxahachie. Alice was an active member of the South Prong Baptist Church where she was involved in many activities. She had a love for garage sales, enjoyed flowers and working in her yard, loved her grandchildren and always had a spotless house.

She is survived by: her husband of sixty years, John Hardy Carroll; one daughter, Wanda Parks and her husband James all of Waxahachie, 2 grandchildren; Kyle Parks, his wife Catherine and their child Hannah all of Austin, Allison Friloux, her husband Henri and their soon to be child all of Plano.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Frank Adams, Marion Handley, and one sister Nellie Berry.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8 PM Friday evening at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 10 AM Saturday May 28, 2005 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel with Brother James Wilcox officiating. Pallbearers will be James Winningham, John Bridges, Grady Shinpaugh, Billy C. Boyd, Bill Huddleston and Gary Farmer. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joel King, Michael Tromm and Keith Kyser. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Burial Park.


The family request that Memorial be made to the American Heart Association.
